Paulomi - Paulomi Patel

PAULOMI PATEL PROFILE:

After studying Fashion Management from George Brown College, I worked at Roots Canada for more than a year. I was the Communication and Marketing Coordinator and I worked closely with the Director of Communication and Public Affairs on a wide range of issues pertaining to employee communication and correspondence with customers, NGOs, suppliers and journalists (national and international media). One of my main responsibilities was to handle the company’s monthly in-house magazine. On the marketing side, I was also involved in brand and product awareness, cross marketing and promotions, media planning, ad bookings, and production.

In addition to my above experience, I have also been a fashion and lifestyle writer for several international magazines. I have been a Contributing Writer with Vogue India and have written for the Vogue Autumn Winter Catwalk Supplement.

Besides Vogue, I have worked as the Staff Writer – Features for the Grazia magazine. Grazia is an Italy based monthly magazine. I worked for the Indian edition of the same where I wrote several articles pertaining to fashion, lifestyle and entertainment in each issue. I also worked on the editorial tone and style of the magazine closely with the editor-in-chief and played an active role in the production process. My duties included copy editing, proofreading, art and page layout correction.

Other than this, I have written on a freelance basis for Indian Express (North American edition) as well.

Before coming to Toronto, I have studied Fashion Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology, (NIFT), Mumbai and worked for two years as a Product Development Manager in the Mumbai-based export house, Texport Garments.
